Work With Me

I offer counselling and psychotherapy for adults, supporting people who are navigating a wide range of emotional experiences, life transitions and difficulties. The work is shaped around the individual rather than a fixed programme, and sessions provide a calm, confidential space to explore what feels important or difficult at your own pace.

You don’t need to be certain that therapy is what you need, or to recognise yourself neatly in any particular description. Many people come with a general sense that something feels difficult, unresolved or in need of attention. The initial assessment session offers space to explore this together and to consider whether this feels like the right place to work.

Areas I Work With

People come to therapy for many different reasons. Sometimes there is a clear difficulty they want to explore; at other times, it is a sense that something feels unsettled, unresolved or hard to hold alone. The areas below reflect the kinds of experiences I commonly work with.

Abuse

Experiences of abuse can continue to shape how you feel, relate to others, and understand yourself, sometimes long after the events have passed.

Therapy offers a calm, confidential space to explore what you are carrying at a pace that feels manageable, without judgement.

Anger

Anger can feel confusing, uncomfortable or difficult to express, and may be connected to experiences that have not had space to be understood.

Therapy can help explore what sits beneath anger and how it relates to your emotional world and relationships.

Anxiety

Anxiety often shows up as feeling emotionally stretched, overwhelmed, or unable to settle, even when life on the outside appears to be ticking along.

Therapy offers a steady space to explore what drives anxiety and to understand your thoughts and feelings with greater clarity.

Depression

Depression and low mood can leave you feeling weighed down, disconnected, or unsure of yourself, even if you appear to be coping.

Therapy offers a calm, reflective space to explore what you’re carrying and to make sense of feelings that may have been difficult to express elsewhere.

Gender & sexuality

Questions around gender or sexuality can bring uncertainty, distress or a desire for deeper self-understanding.

Therapy offers a respectful, non-judgemental space to explore identity and sexuality at your own pace.

Grief & bereavement

Loss can be profoundly affecting and may feel isolating, complex or overwhelming.

Therapy offers time and space to explore grief without pressure to move on, and to find ways of living alongside what has been lost.

Life choices

At certain points, decisions can feel heavy, unclear or tied up with fear or long-standing patterns.

Therapy offers space to pause and reflect, helping you explore what feels important or difficult as you navigate change.

Low self-confidence / self-esteem

Low self-confidence can show up as self-doubt, harsh self-criticism or uncertainty about who you are or what you want.

Therapy can help you explore where these patterns come from and develop a more compassionate relationship with yourself.

Separation & divorce

Separation and divorce can bring grief, uncertainty and emotional upheaval.

Therapy offers a confidential space to explore what you are going through and to reflect on the impact of relational change.

Stress

Ongoing stress can leave you feeling overwhelmed by demands, emotions or expectations, and exhausted from holding everything together.

Therapy offers a steady space to reflect on what is driving the stress and how it is affecting you.

Trauma (incl generational trauma)

Trauma can include experiences from the past that continue to influence how you feel and relate in the present, including patterns passed through families or relationships.

Therapy offers a calm, contained environment to explore these experiences thoughtfully and safely.

Work-related issues

Work-related difficulties can include ongoing pressure, anxiety or a sense of being stretched beyond your limits.

Therapy provides space to explore work-related stress and how it connects with your wider emotional life and sense of self.

Next Steps

The next step is to get in touch by email to arrange an initial assessment session. This first meeting is how the therapeutic process begins and gives us both an opportunity to consider whether working together feels right.

Sessions are held weekly for 50 minutes at a regular agreed time.

The fee is £80 per session.  The initial assessment session is also charged at £80 and is a standalone session with no obligation to continue.

I offer in-person sessions in Beckenham, within walking distance of Elmers End station, with some off-street parking available. I also offer online sessions, which are held with the same care, pace and quality as in-person work.
