About

People often come to therapy because something feels heavy, confusing or unresolved - even if it’s hard to put into words.

I have spent over twenty years working with people who are trying to make sense of their inner world: whether they are facing something specific in the present or carrying experiences and emotional patterns that have developed over time. Through this work, I have seen how important it is to have a space where experiences can be spoken and understood without pressure to explain, justify or make sense of everything at once.

Clients often tell me they value the calm, steady nature of our work together and the sense of being genuinely heard and understood.

I work attentively and with curiosity, helping you explore what you are carrying, understand how past experiences continue to shape the present, and find a clearer, more compassionate relationship with yourself.

If you are looking for a therapist who works thoughtfully, with depth and care, and who understands the complexity of what people carry (particularly around loss, identity and life transitions) my way of working may be a good fit.

My Approach to Therapy

My work is grounded in the belief that therapy is not about fixing or diagnosing, but about creating the conditions in which understanding can develop. I see therapy as a collaborative process, shaped by the individual rather than a single method or model.

I work integratively, drawing on different therapeutic approaches depending on what feels most appropriate and supportive. For some people, this means focusing on a specific difficulty in the present. For others, it involves exploring deeper emotional patterns, past experiences and relational themes that continue to influence how they feel and relate to others.

The therapeutic relationship itself is central to the work. I aim to offer a calm, confidential and non-judgemental space, listening closely and with care, so that thoughts and feelings can be explored at a pace that feels manageable.

My Experience and Background

I have worked therapeutically for over twenty years across a range of settings, including organisations such as Mind, Victim Support, St Michael’s Hospice and Autism Sussex, as well as with schools and young people.

Working within these settings has given me a deep appreciation of the many ways people carry their experiences, and of how transformative it can be to have a consistent, respectful relationship in which those experiences can be spoken and understood.

My particular interest in grief and bereavement developed from witnessing how profoundly loss can affect a person, and how isolating it can feel when the world expects them to simply continue as before. This work has shaped my understanding of grief as something complex and individual, and of the importance of allowing it to be explored without pressure to “move on” or find meaning too quickly.
